WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!
Hey, i’m Amy! AKA “The Gutless Gob”
HOW’D YOU GET INTO ALL THIS?
I just wanted to help those who don’t feel like they belong to find a place where they know that they’re wanted. Cancer is a lonely place, but we now have a platform full of love and positivity. I’ve found a lot of cancer groups can often be morbid and scary, people constantly posting about their loved ones dieing of this awful disease. I get that, but we like to focus on the amazing stories of beating the odds and the fond memories that celebrate life. Death is a inevitable part of cancer, of life in general, but our Sunday Story Time on Facebook and Mosher’s Memoirs here on the site is so inspiring people, showing defying the odds every day!
HOW YOU DOING?
I got diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer on July 22nd 2025, the day Ozzy died. I had a ping pong ball sized tumour on my large intestines alone, with scarring to a foot of large intestines, forty one lymph nodes and my kidneys. I then began eight rounds of oral chemo.
Five days after finishing chemo I had three seizures in the space of eight hours. I’d never had one before.
They had to resuscitate and pump oxygen into me. It turns out I now had, direct quote, “sticky blood”. This caused a blood clot and brain bleed which is a rare side effect of the chemo. I’m doing ok right now. My speech is getting there, but my memory isn’t quite what it was.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE BAND?
Loads! Ozzy/Black Sabbath, Halestorm, Skindred, Slipknot, Rammstein, Spiritbox, Judas Priest and Cher to name a few
WHAT KEEPS YOU BUSY?
My dogs! Me and my partner have seven of them! When we’re not dealing with a pile of pups, music is hugely important to me obviously, murder documentaries, pub quizzes and football. COME ON BIRMINGHAM CITY AND THE LIONESSES!
Also in the process of selling my house and buying with my partner so currently a lot of what keeps me busy is “adulting”, which sucks.
WHAT’S YOUR CRAZIEST FESTIVAL STORY?
The creation of Camp Milk! Where do I begin? The night of the milk fight, the night one of my friends was kicked of the arena (completely unfairly), the day we dressed as a herd of cows and dragged people into a cow circle pit, the stories are endless. I cant wait for the madness of 2026!
WHAT’S A QUOTE OR SONG LYRIC THAT SPEAKS TO YOU?
“They try to tell us. We don’t belong. That’s alright. We’re millions strong.” Kiss – Crazy Nights
“Dont you get inside your head. Let them know that you got this.” Skindred
“I am not insane. Blame the chemicals inside my brain.
I need the pain to get me through. Just like you.” Halestorm – Chemicals.
